The CT-CSD Conventional Photoelectric Smoke Detector identifies smoke using a pair of infrared diodes. In the absence of smoke, the diode receives minimal infrared light; however, as smoke fills the chamber, the diode captures increasing amounts of light, triggering the detector to emit an alarm signal once the smoke reaches a specific density.
